astounding was created a few months ago. i wanted to create something freaky looking and so i played with a fractal program named apophysis. the results reminded me on the effect they created for that riddick movie on that one hot planet/moon... when the sun comes up and throws that cool looking spirals. the sun in my piece looks a bit more friendly. the landscape was rendered in terragen. i added a lot of elements, incl the apophysis render, via photoshop.
